Marie Ullrich is an award-winning narrative and commercial film director. Her debut feature film, The Alley Cat, has won an impressive array of awards from international juried festivals and is available to stream in select English-speaking countries, distributed by Gravitas Ventures. While seeking international distribution, Ullrich has gone on to develop other films and is actively seeking co-production partnerships and collaborators. Her short film, Faster!, opened at the Chicago International Film Festival and the British Film Institute’s London Film Festival in the same week, and is distributed by Shorts International.

 

Born in Nashville, Tennessee, Ullrich received her Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications with a concentration in Film from Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts. She freelanced as an Art Director and Associate Producer on nationally distributed films, nationally broadcast television series, webisodes, commercials, animation, and live events before returning to school for an MFA in Film Writing and Directing at Columbia College Chicago.
